Strengthening Identity through Music: Bordó Sárkány in Canada
The Hungarian band, Bordó Sárkány (Burgundy Dragon) was founded in 2010. They mostly play medieval world music with a touch of rock style; besides drawing on Hungarian and European folk songs, they also compose their own pieces of music. Perhaps it is not surprising that with such a wide repertoire, they are often invited abroad to festivals. In October, however, the Dragons flew further than ever: they gave a tour in Canada. We asked the leader and manager of the band, Roland Dickmann about their foreign experiences.
